This is a rare ring that was worn on the thumb or finger throughout Oman up to the 1970s. It is locally called Gabira or Jabriya.

This ring is made from good silver and the silversmithing is of high quality. It has a raised middle with three stones, two blue on either side of a red stone. I don't know if these are gems (turquoise and garnet) or just glass. The shank is wide and heavily decorated with granulation and roping. This is an absolutely gorgeous rare ring in great vintage condition. 

• The width of the band is  1.5 cm (5/8").
• Weight is 11 grams.
• The ring measures  US 10 1/2 in its middle.
