This is such a delightful little Victorian brooch.  The brooch is made out of silver (tested) and adorned with lovely Persian turquoises. In the middle is the figure of a swallow with a garnet eye. The swallow mates for life, and as a migratory bird it returns every year. This made it a very popular motif in Victorian jewelry signifying fidelity and wanting your love to return soon.

The pin works reasonably well though there is not a lot of spring to the pin and there is a sign of repair to the C- clasp.

the brooch is 3.5 cm x 1.2 cm (1 3/8 x 1/2") across. Weight is 3.2 g.
